Rosi (Rosie) Gabl was born and raised in Switzerland. After earning a Swiss diploma for completing the Haute Couture Apprenticeship at the Technical College of Dressmaking Basel, she founded the fashion label Best Of Rosi and ran her own fashion studio. Soon after she was accepted into the Basel School Of Design, Switzerland, from where she graduated with a BFA in fashion design. After her graduation she studied Fashion Illustration at Central Saint Martins College of Art in London.

 

In 1996 Rosi immigrated to Los Angeles and soon found work in the entertainment industry. Within a couple of years, she was accepted into the Costume Designers Guild as Costume Illustrator, and into the Motion Picture Costumers Guild as Pattern Maker/Fitter. She is a member of both guilds since then and freelances in both fields.

 

Since 2003 Rosi teaches fashion model drawing at OTIS College of Art and Design Los Angeles (Senior Lecturer). She also teaches Costume Drawing at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

 

In addition to her work for television and film, Rosi produces and creates for her own label, Best Of Rosi.
